Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court Jobs 2025 – Civil Judge or Judicial Magistrate Posts

The Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court has announced the recruitment of four Civil Judge/Judicial Magistrate positions (BPS-18) on a one-year contract, extendable based on performance.

The candidates must be law graduates from a recognized university and members of the Bar Association Gilgit-Baltistan or the Faculty of Advocates of Scotland, and have at least two years of active legal practice or relevant government service experience.

The age limit is 22 to 35 years, with a relaxation up to 37 years for government employees with five or more years of service.

The applications must be submitted online through the Education Testing Council (ETC) website within 20 days of the announcement (by July 11, 2025) along with a test fee of Rs. 5000.

No manual or email applications will be accepted, and appointments will be made strictly on open merit.

The test details will be communicated by HEC, and no travel allowances will be provided.

Qualification and Experience:

Educational Qualification:

  • Law degree from a recognized university, entitling the candidate to practice Law.
  • Must be a member of any Bar Association in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, or a Faculty of Advocates of Scotland.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of active legal practice after enrollment as an Advocate.
  • Government service in roles like District Attorney, Public Prosecutor, or Assistant Registrar (with a Law degree) is also considered relevant experience.

Age Limit:

  • Minimum: 22 years
  • Maximum: 35 years
  • For government employees with at least 5 years of service in GB or Federal departments: The Upper age limit is 37 years
  • No other age relaxation will be granted.
